Disassembling the front brake mechanism
Hang up and remove the front wheel.
Using a 10 mm socket, unscrew the bolt securing the hose guide brackets
Remove the guides.
Using a 14 mm socket, unscrew the bypass bolt of the brake hose of one circuit.
We move the hose with the bypass bolt.
The hose fitting is sealed with copper washers on both sides
Similarly, disconnect the brake hose of the other circuit
Remove the cylinder block with the brake caliper (see. Replacing the front brake pads).
Remove the brake pads.
Having clamped the brake caliper in a vice with soft metal jaw pads, use a punch to knock off the cylinder block retainer.
At the same time, press the cylinder block retainer with a rod with a diameter of 3-4 mm and, striking the cylinder block with a hammer with a plastic striker, begin to move the block along the brake caliper guides.
Having moved the cylinder block by 1.5-2.0 mm, remove the rod.
Using a hammer with a plastic striker or a mallet, knock the cylinder block out of the caliper guides.
The cylinder block and brake caliper.
Removing the retainer and its spring from the brake cylinder block socket
The retainer enters the caliper hole and limits the movement of the cylinder block
We assemble and install the front brake mechanism in the reverse order.
To facilitate assembly, we remove the chamfers from the cylinder block guides with a file.
Having sunk the retainer into the block socket, we insert the block into the caliper grooves.
With a hammer with a plastic striker, hammer the cylinder block until the retainer enters the caliper hole.
To remove the pad guide, remove the upper clamping lever in the same way as the lower lever
Using a 10 mm socket, unscrew the bolt securing the front casing to the shoe guide
Using a chisel, loosen the two bolts securing the shoe guide to the steering knuckle
Using the "on" key 17" unscrew the lower bolt.
It is more convenient to unscrew the upper bolt with a head
Remove the front casing
Remove the brake shoe guide.
The brake disc and its protective cover can only be removed after removing the hub (see Replacing the hub bearings).
When tightening the bypass bolts, note that the position of the brake hoses is determined by the guide brackets.
Assemble in the reverse order and bleed the brake system (see the article - "Bleeding the brakes").
