The final drive can be adjusted or repaired without removing the rear axle from the vehicle
Before assembly, the spring sheets must be lubricated with graphite grease.
The springs are assembled in the device shown in Fig. 1.
To remove the longitudinal and transverse steering rods, you need to unpin the nuts securing the ball joints of the longitudinal rod to the pitman arm and the upper steering arm, remove the bolts from the pitman arm hole and disconnect the rod from the pitman arm

Removing the ZIL-5301 gearbox in a workshop
When removing the gearbox, you must:
Unscrew the bolts securing the cabin floor cover, remove it and unscrew the flange for fastening the propeller shaft.
The main brake cylinders (MBC) are connected by two bolts into one unit with pneumatic chambers, which are pneumatic boosters, and are installed on brackets on the front panel of the cabin under the hood of the car for braking the front axle wheels and behind the rear axle for the rear axle wheels
The ZIL-5301 has an inconveniently located washer reservoir.
Inconveniences arise when filling it.
