Repair ZIL-5301

Adjusting the contact patch in the main transmission gears of the ZIL-5301
After adjusting the main transmission bearings, it is necessary to check the engagement of the teeth of the driving and driven bevel gears (on the paint on the contact patch) and, if necessary, adjust the engagement and set the required gap between the teeth.

Laying the D-245 crankshaft
Before assembly, each crankshaft must be checked on a magnetic or ultrasonic flaw detector for the absence of micro and macro cracks; and also for compliance of the selected set of main bearing shells with the size of the main journals

When repairing, the front axle beam must be checked for bending and twisting on a device (Fig. 1), which is installed on the spring platform

The ZIL-5301 vehicle with division along the sides uses a flangeless two-cavity brake chamber, designed to act on the master brake cylinder and installed together with it on a bracket on the front panel of the cabin under the hood of the vehicle

Requirements for parts and assemblies of the D-245 diesel engine
The cylinder block is the main body part of the diesel engine and is a rigid cast iron casting.
Four removable liners made of special cast iron are installed in the vertical bores of the block.

Diesel engines are equipped with high-pressure fuel pumps SR3.3 (Figure 1).
The high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) is designed to create a fuel reserve, maintain and regulate the pressure in the fuel accumulator
