Usually the steering column is removed for replacement when the column shaft bearings or intermediate shaft cardan joints fail
You will need the following tools for the job: Torx T20 and T50 keys, 13 mm socket head, screwdriver set and pliers
Prepare the car and disconnect the negative battery terminal
Removing steering wheel, as described in the article "Removing the steering wheel and steering column cover of the Lada Largus car"
Removing the steering column cover
Remove the steering column switch unit as described in the article "How to remove the steering column switch of the Lada Largus"
Unscrew the screw securing the handle of the steering wheel angle adjustment mechanism
And remove the handle
Remove the instrument panel, as described in the article "How to remove the instrument panel of the Lada Largus"
Squeeze the clamp of the connector of the wiring harness of the antenna unit of the immobilizer
Disconnect the connector from the unit
Removing the immobilizer antenna from the lock
Using a screwdriver to press the immobilizer antenna unit retainer
Removing the block. If you do not need to replace the ignition switch, you can leave the antenna unit in place
Move the ignition switch wire connector lock in the direction of the arrow in the figure
Disconnect the shoe
Unscrew the nut securing the intermediate shaft connection under the instrument panel
We take out the bolt of the terminal connection of the intermediate shaft with the shaft-pinion of the steering gear from the hole
Move the cardan joint fork off the pinion shaft tip
Unscrew the four bolts securing the steering column to the instrument panel frame and remove the steering column
The crosspieces of the steering column shaft are non-separable, so they must be replaced as a shaft assembly
Install the parts in the reverse order
Replace the terminal connection bolt and nut with new ones and tighten to 21 Nm
Before installation, apply anaerobic thread lock to the threads of the four steering column mounting bolts
Tighten the steering column mounting bolts to the instrument panel crossbar bracket to 21 Nm
