Usually the heater is removed to replace the evaporator or to repair the heater
Before performing the task, we discharge the air conditioning system, as described in the article - Bleeding and filling the air conditioning system of the Lada Largus with refrigerant
Drain the liquid from the engine cooling system (article - How to replace the engine coolant Lada Largus)
Remove the air intake with the resonator assembly (article - How to remove the noise muffler and air filter of the K4M engine)
Remove the floor tunnel lining (article - How to remove the instrument panel Lada Largus)
Remove the instrument panel
In the car interior, use the Torx T-20 key to unscrew the two screws securing the mounting block
Remove the fuse box and leave it hanging on the wires
Using a 10 mm socket, unscrew the two nuts
Remove the tips from the studs mass wires
Using side cutters, we cut off the clamp securing the wiring harness to the crossbar
Pry off the wire harness holder from the steering column bracket with a screwdriver
Also remove five more wire harness holders from the cross beam
Remove the cross beam bracket (how to remove it is described in the article - How to replace the fan and radiator of the Lada Largus heater)
Removing the relay of the heating of the glass of the trunk door from the holder on the crossbar
Disconnecting the wiring block from the brake light switch
Using a 13 mm socket, unscrew the four bolts securing the steering column
Lower the steering column to the floor
Pressing the lock of the wiring block, disconnect the blocks of the wiring harness of the heater fan
Unscrew the nut with a 10 mm head
Remove the ground wire tip from the stud
Using a Torx T-20 key, unscrew the screw securing the air duct
And remove the left air duct
Also remove the right air duct
With a Torx T-20 key unscrew the two screws securing the heater to the crossbar
Using a 13 mm socket, unscrew the two bolts securing the crossbar on the left side.
Also unscrew the two bolts securing the crossbar on the right side
Remove the cross beam
Move the trim away from the front shield
In the engine compartment with a 10 head, unscrew the two bolts securing the air conditioner pipes to the reducer
Disconnect the tubes from the reducer
Having squeezed with pliers, ends of the clamps, move the clamps along the hoses
Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses of the heater from the pipes of the radiator of the heater
Remove the heater from the car interior
Install in the reverse order of removal, while:
- for cars equipped with an air conditioning system: remove the plugs from the pipelines and the evaporator unit, install new sealing rings on the pipelines.
Apply compressor oil to the sealing rings;
- vacuum the air conditioning system and load the system with refrigerant, according to the operating instructions for the service equipment.
Check the operability of the heating, air conditioning and ventilation system.
