We remove the front suspension arms for replacement or repair. Damage to the arm can be:
- - deformation of the arm itself;
- - wear of the ball joint;
- - wear of the silent blocks.
The work on removing the left and right front arms is identical.
The operations for removing the lever must be carried out with the front part of the car suspended or the car completely raised on a lift.
When one wheel is suspended, the anti-roll bar will create a load and interfere with the dismantling of the lever.
To remove the lever, remove the wheel.
Disconnect the stabilizer bar mount (see the article - "How to remove the front suspension stabilizer bar Lada Largus").
Remove the engine protection from below.
Using a 16 mm socket, loosen the nut of the clamping bolt of the steering knuckle and ball joint pin, holding the bolt with a wrench of the same size.
Take out the bolt or knock it out with a punch made of soft metal.
Using a powerful slotted screwdriver or a mounting blade, we loosen the connection of the steering knuckle and the ball joint pin.
At the same time, shaking the steering knuckle from side to side by the brake disc, we remove the ball joint pin from the hole steering knuckle.
Using a 13 mm socket, loosen the bolt securing the subframe bracket to the body.
Using a 18 mm head, unscrew the nut securing the subframe bracket
Remove the bracket from the front bolt securing the arm to the subframe
Using a 18 mm head, unscrew the nut securing the rear arm mounting bolt, holding the bolt with a spanner of the same size.
Take out the bolt or knock it out with a soft metal mandrel.
Similarly, unscrew the nut securing the rear arm mounting bolt and take it out bolt.
Remove the suspension arm.
Install the arm in the reverse order.
Finally tighten the nuts of the arm mounting bolts to the subframe.
