The possible cause of knocking in the front suspension may be the ball joints
A faulty joint can be identified by touch by the play in the ball pin. We replace such a joint
We check the condition of the joint mudguards.
We replace joints with torn covers as a whole.
On a new ball joint, we turn or deflect the ball pin in different directions.
Play, easy movement of the pin or its strong jamming are unacceptable.
We prepare the car for work.
We install the car on an inspection pit or lift.
We remove the front suspension arm assembly with the ball joint (see How to remove the front suspension arms of the Lada Largus)
We use a powerful screwdriver to pry the support body under the flange (Figure 1)
Leaning on the edge of the lever, we press the ball joint out of the hole in the lever.
Inspect the eye of the lever - there should be no cracks or breaks around the hole.
Before pressing in a new ball joint, thoroughly clean the seating surface of the hole in the lever from dirt and corrosion.
Having placed a tool head or a piece of pipe of a suitable diameter under the lever, insert a new ball joint into the hole.
By striking the mandrel with a hammer (Figure 4, you can use a tool head), resting on the flange of the support body, we press the support into the hole of the lever until it stops.
Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
