Usually the exhaust manifold is removed to replace the gasket or for a complete engine overhaul
Increased noise from the vehicle's exhaust indicates that some connection or part of the exhaust system has burned out.
On the K7M engine, a thin metal gasket is installed at the junction of the exhaust manifold and the cylinder head.
If tightening the nuts does not eliminate the gas leak, then the gasket must be replaced.
Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or lift.
The exhaust manifold is covered with a heat shield, which is attached to three studs.
Before unscrewing the nuts of the heat shield, moisten them with WD-40 or kerosene or brake fluid.
Unscrew the three nuts securing the heat shield
Remove heat shield
To remove the exhaust manifold, you need to disconnect the intake pipe.
The intake pipe is attached to the exhaust manifold on two studs.
The connection is "floating".
Softness is provided by two springs.
Using a 14 head with an extension, unscrew the two nuts.
Disconnecting the intake pipe
Before unscrew the exhaust manifold, wet the nuts with penetrating liquid WD-40 or kerosene.
Unscrew and remove the exhaust manifold and remove it (you need to unscrew it slowly, trying not to twist the thread or break the thread)
Removing the gasket
After dismantling, inspect the exhaust manifold for cracks and other defects
Assemble all the parts in reverse sequence.
Apply graphite grease to all exhaust manifold studs.
Tighten the exhaust manifold according to the tightening diagram.
First tighten the exhaust manifold nuts by hand, then tighten to a torque of 25 Nm.
Tighten the nuts securing the intake pipe flange to the exhaust manifold to a torque of 21 Nm.
