Therefore, for their For loosening, it is better to use a hexagonal tool head, in which the working edges start immediately from its end (if necessary, the head can be turned).
Before loosening the bolts that secure the brake drum to the axle flange, tap their heads.
Using a 12 mm socket, unscrew the two bolts securing the brake drum to the axle shaft.
Screw the bolts into the holes in which there are thread in the drum (the bolts will rest against the axle flange when tightened and shift the drum).
You can also remove the brake drum by striking the end of the drum with a hammer through a wooden block.
Remove the brake drum.
Use a screwdriver to disconnect the end of the upper tension spring from the pad

Use pliers to turn the tailpiece of the front brake pad until it matches the slot in the outer cup
Remove the spring with the outer and inner cups.
On the other side of the brake shield, remove the rack
We move the front pad away
Remove the lower tension spring and remove the rear brake pad support strut
Move the rear brake pad
Remove the handbrake lever of the pads from the end of the rear parking brake cable
For removing the manual brake pad lever, unpin its axle
Remove the washer
Remove the lever
Remove the axle
Assembly and installation of the pads is carried out in the reverse order
When installing new pads, it is necessary to press the pistons into the wheel cylinder.
This operation can be performed as follows way:
- carefully striking the piston with a hammer through a wooden block;
- or after installing the pads, press on them, leaning two mounting blades on the flange of the brake shield.
In this case, the upper stops of the pads press the pistons into the cylinder.
After installing new brake pads, it is necessary to adjust the parking brake system.
