MAZ repair

The crankshaft is made of steel, manufactured using the hot stamping method. The journals of the shaft are hardened with heating by high-frequency currents.

The diaphragm clutch model 182 (Fig. 1) consists of leading and driven parts, as well as clutch release mechanism parts installed in the clutch housing

The clutch of the YaMZ-238 model is double-disc, dry, friction type, with a peripheral arrangement of cylindrical springs

The engine removed from the vehicle for repair is disassembled completely or partially, depending on the nature of the damage

Let's consider assembling a diesel engine in a certain sequence, taking into account that our parts and assemblies are previously pre-assembled and tested

Installing the cylinder-piston group

Before installation, the liners must be matched to the cylinders and the amount of flange protrusion checked

Installing cylinder heads, valve rocker arms and adjusting valve clearances

The cylinder head mounting studs are screwed into the right and left rows of the cylinder block, having previously lubricated the threaded holes for the studs in the block with diesel oil

The transverse angle of the king pin of 5˚, as well as the camber angle of the wheels of 1˚, are ensured by the manufacture of parts of the front axle. These angles are not adjustable.

The steering includes a steering mechanism 10 (Fig. 1) with a built-in distributor, a column 2, a steering wheel 1, a power cylinder 9, a pump 3, an oil tank 4, and hoses.

Removing the steering gear from the car

To remove the steering gear from the car, do the following:

The gear pump NSh-32U consists of a housing 6 (Fig. 1) and two gears located in it: driving 7 and driven 9, rotating in bronze bushings

Adjusting the steering mechanism includes adjusting the propeller bearings and adjusting the engagement of the gear sector and rack nut

Start adjusting the mechanism with the screw bearings in the following sequence:

Removing the power cylinder from the car

Removal procedure;

— disconnect the hoses, having first drained the oil from the tank;

The vehicles are equipped with service, parking, spare and auxiliary brake systems, as well as devices for connecting the brake system of a semi-trailer with a two-wire pneumatic drive and outputs for supplying other consumers with compressed air

Brake mechanisms are drum type with two internal pads and an easily removable brake drum

The friction linings of the drum surface, as well as the bushings and necks of the expansion cams and the axles of the shoes are subject to the greatest wear in the service brakes
