Repair Lada Priora
Removing and installing the steering gear boot
This job requires plastic boot mounting clamps
When the master cylinder piston jams (due to corrosion, breakage of the return springs), incomplete release of all wheels may occur
A defect such as a "failure" of the brake pedal may also occur
Replace or check the solenoid if the reverse gear does not engage
The rear wheel brake mechanism is a drum brake with a two-piston wheel cylinder and automatic clearance adjustment between the shoes and the drum
Remove the gearbox (see "Removing and installing the Lada Priora gearbox")
Clean it from dirt on the outside (do not allow dirt to get inside the gearbox)
Set the wheels to the straight-ahead position of the car.
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
