Remove the power steering pump for replacement, as well as when dismantling the engine
You will need 13 keys, Torx T40, 10, 13 socket heads, pliers, a pipe wrench
Prepare the car for the task and install it on an inspection pit or lift
Remove the right front wheel
Remove the right side and lower mudguards of the front wing
Remove the crankcase guard
Remove the auxiliary belt, as described in the article "How to replace the alternator belt of a Lada Largus car with a K4M engine"
Pump out the working fluid from the power steering reservoir
If the car has a K4M engine, unscrew the two nuts securing the fuel rail casing
Move from studs and remove the protective cover
Remove the generator as described in the article "How to remove and install the generator of the Lada Largus car"
Loosen the clamp of the supply hose by squeezing the clamp antennae, and slide the clamp along the hose
Disconnect the hose from the hydraulic pump fitting
Unscrew the bolt of the lower fastening of the pressure pipe to the cylinder block
Unscrew the bolt of the upper fastening to the bracket of the power steering pump
Unscrew the nut securing the pressure pipe
And move the tip of the tube away from pump
We plug the tubes and hoses with suitable plugs so that the liquid does not leak out
We unscrew the two bolts of the rear fastening of the pump to the bracket
Unscrew the upper bolt of the front pump mount through the holes in the pulley
Turning the pulley, unscrew the two lower bolts of the front mount in turn
We pull the pump out of the bracket, move it back and take it out of the engine compartment up
Installing the power steering pump
We install the pump in the reverse order.
Power steering pump mounting bolt tightening diagram:
- - tighten bolts 5 for mounting the pump from the pump drive pulley side;
- - tighten bolts 9 for mounting the hydraulic pump from the opposite side
Bolt tightening torques:
- - for cars with K7M engine - 21 Nm
- - for cars with K4M engine - 25 Nm
Remove the plugs from the pipelines and pump holes
Before installing the tubes, replace the nipple rings
Install a new sealing ring and connect the high-pressure tube nipple to the pump. Tightening torque of the nipple 21 Nm
Connect the low-pressure pipe to the pump and secure it with a clamp
Install the auxiliary drive belt
For cars with a K7M engine equipped with an air conditioning system:
Tighten bolt 8 of the high-pressure pipe to bracket 6 of the auxiliary units. Tightening torque of the bolt 21 Nm
For cars with a K7M engine not equipped with an air conditioner:
Install the front bumper
For cars with a K4M engine:
Install the bolt in the eye of the high-pressure pipe mounting bracket and secure the pipe by tightening the bolt into the corresponding hole on the cylinder block. Bolt tightening torque 21 Nm
Install the fuel rail guard
Install the crankcase guard and mudguards and install the right front wheel
Fill the power steering system with working fluid
Bleed the air from the power steering system
Removing and installing the power steering pump pulley
Remove the pump as described above
Install the power steering pump in a vice with soft jaws with the pulley facing up
Install a 17 mm diameter stop on the pump shaft
Install a universal two-jaw puller in the pump pulley windows and remove the pulley
Installing the pulley
Using the device, press on the pulley
When pressing in the pulley, ensure the installation size.
Before pressing, lubricate the seating surface of the pulley and the threaded surface of the power screw of the pulley pressing device.
