We remove the heater radiator if you need to wash it from dirt and scale or to replace the heater radiator
Removing the battery
Fully open the heater radiator tap (move the top switch of the heater control panel to the extreme right position).
Open the engine radiator tap and drain the liquid from the cooling system into a clean container with a capacity of at least 10 liters.
Use a flat-head screwdriver to loosen the hose clamp
Remove it from the upper pipe of the heater radiator.
Loosen the clamp of the lower hose.
Using a 10mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the radiator valve to the mudguard.
Remove it from the studs and remove the hose from the lower pipe of the heater radiator.
Remove the rubber O-rings from both heater radiator pipes.
Remove the instrument panel console (see Removing the instrument panel console of a GAZ-3110 car).
Remove the instrument panel (see GAZ-3110 instrument panel removal), without disconnecting the fuse blocks and wiring harness from it (complete dismantling of the panel is not required).
Lower the panel to the floor of the car.
Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the tension of the rod locking screw.
Pry it up with a flat screwdriver and “snap off” the spring clamp of the rod shell.
We proceed in the same way with the lower flexible drive rod.
By rotating the drive mechanism, we disengage the upper rigid rod from the flag and put the drive mechanism aside.
Using a 10mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the heater to the air supply duct (the second nut is located on the opposite side of the duct).
Using a 13 mm wrench or socket, unscrew the nut of the upper heater mounting and remove the “mass” wire from the stud.
Using a 10mm wrench, unscrew the bolt securing the heater distributor to the tunnel.
Disconnect the windshield heating air ducts
Removing the heater.
Holding the screws with a screwdriver or a 10 wrench, use a 8 wrench to unscrew the 5 nuts
Remove the top cover of the heater with the rubber gasket
Remove the heater radiator from the grooves.
Assemble the heater in reverse order.
Before installation, we recommend rinsing the old radiator inside and out with a stream of water to remove contaminants that impair heat transfer.
