Installing a pre-heater on a ZIL-5301

Pre-heater

The pre-heater produced in Tyumen has proven itself quite well.

ATTENTION! When installing, do not confuse the inlet and outlet pipes on the body of the electric heater.

The outlet pipe of the electric heater, after installation, should be at its highest point.

The electric heater should not touch the engine or other parts of the car.

The hoses should not have kinks or form loops.

Drain the coolant from the radiator and engine block, before this, do not forget to open the cabin heater tap and open the filler plug.

Unscrew the drain tap from the block.

Tighten the nipple (the nipple is included with the heater, but if the nipple is not included, you can order it from a turner or select a similar nipple).

Attach the bracket for hanging the heater.

Attach it to the bolt that secures the oil valve body.

We secure the heater with a clamp.

Cut the hose that goes from the heater to the pump, install a tee in this place (comes with the heater).

Installing a pre-heater on a ZIL-5301

Connect the hose to the tee and connect it to the heater (to the heater outlet).

You can install a tap in this connection (a tap from a VAZ-2108 with a heater will do).

When closing the tap increases the efficiency of the heater when the engine is running in winter.

The only thing you need to remember is to open the tap when turning on the pre-heater, otherwise it will fail (the heating element will burn out, the temperature relay installed in the heater will not save you).

Connect the hose to the inlet of the heater.

We coat all the connections with sealant before installation.
