Improving the control of the gas pedal ZIL-5301
Structurally, the gas pedal on the ZIL-5301 is very rigid.
The pedal is controlled by rods.
And after a long trip, the leg gets very tired. After some thought, I had to modify this unit.
Removing the control rods.
We install a bracket on the pump control lever, shown in the picture.
We make it ourselves from a corner.
We weld the plate to the pedal bracket.
The cable fits well from the VAZ-2108 clutch pedal control. (sold in auto parts).
Everything is adjusted empirically. We look at the photo and do it.
I have been working with this modification for 8 years with a soft pedal.
