Remove the rear axle gearbox (see the article – Removing the rear axle gearbox)
Install the gearbox on the workbench
Use a 10 key to loosen the bolt securing the locking plate of the adjusting nut of the right bearing of the differential box
Remove the plate.
Also remove the plate on the left side.
Mark with a center punch location of differential box bearing caps on gearbox housing
Using a 17 key, unscrew the two bolts securing the right differential box bearing cover
Removing the bolts
Removing the right bearing cover
Removing the adjusting nut
Removing the outer ring of the gearbox bearing differential.
Similarly, remove the cover, take out the adjusting nut and remove the outer ring of the left bearing of the differential box.
If we do not change the differential box bearings, then mark their outer rings so as not to mix them up during assembly.
Remove the differential box assembly with the driven gear of the main gear, inner rings, separators and rollers bearings.
From the gearbox housing, we take out the drive gear assembly with the adjusting ring, inner ring, separator and rollers of the rear bearing and spacer sleeve
Remove the spacer sleeve
Hit the inner ring of the rear bearing of the gearbox with a hammer through a drift
Removing the inner bearing ring
Remove the adjusting ring of the drive pinion.
Remove the oil seal from the gearbox housing socket (see the article - Replacing the oil seal of the drive pinion of the gearbox)
Remove oil deflector
Removing the inner ring of the pinion bearing
Using a punch, knock out the outer ring of the front bearing of the pinion gear
Take out the outer ring of the bearing. Turning the crankcase over, we also knock out the outer ring of the rear bearing of the pinion gear
To disassemble the differential, we press off the inner ring of the differential box bearing with a puller.
If there is no puller, insert a chisel between the end of the inner ring of the bearing and the differential box
By striking the chisel, we move the inner bearing ring
Insert two powerful screwdrivers or mounting blades
Press off the inner bearing ring.
Also press off the inner ring of the other bearing.
Having clamped the differential box in a vice with soft metal pads, use a 17 key to unscrew the eight bolts securing the driven gear to the differential box.
Using a hammer with a plastic striker, knock the driven gear off the differential case
Remove gear
Removing the satellite axle
Turning the satellites, we take them out of the differential box
We take out the axle gears
Removing the thrust washers
Washing the gearbox parts, inspecting and reading the article on checking the condition and assembling the gearbox.
