The engine with the gearbox and clutch forms a power unit - a single block, fixed in the engine compartment on three elastic rubber-metal supports
We carry out the work on an inspection pit or lift.
To dismantle the cushion of the right support of the power unit suspension, use a 17 mm open-end wrench to unscrew the nut securing the cushion to the bracket engine mounts (the generator has been removed for clarity).
Using a 17 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the nut securing the cushion to the crossmember bracket
Remove the thickened washer.
Place the adjustable stop under the generator bracket and lift the power unit
Pressing the cushion with a mounting blade, we remove its pin from the hole in the engine mount bracket and remove the cushion on the right supports
Similarly, we remove the cushion of the left support of the power unit.
In this case: unscrew the nut securing the cushion to the crossmember bracket with a 17 mm head, and place the support under the oil pan mounting bolt (on the left side).
Remove the cushion of the left support of the power unit.
If there are cracks, tears or peeling rubber on the support cushions, replace the cushions new.
Install the cushions of the left and right powertrain mounts in the reverse order.
When installing the cushion, the centering belt of the stud (located on one side of the cushion) must enter the corresponding hole in the crossmember bracket.
To remove the rear support of the power unit, use a 17 mm open-end wrench to loosen the bolt securing the support to the crossmember of the rear suspension of the power unit.
Using a 13 mm socket, unscrew the four nuts securing the crossmember to the body
Finally unscrew the bolt securing the support to the crossmember and remove it.
Using a 13 mm head, unscrew the two nuts securing the support bracket to the rear cover of the gearbox.
We take out support.
To dismantle the crossmember of the rear suspension of the power unit, remove it from the studs, turn it and bring its left edge out from behind the front propeller shaft.
Removing the crossmember of the rear suspension of the power unit
Install the crossmember and the rear support of the suspension of the power unit in the reverse order.
