If the seal of the gasket is broken, exhaust gases break out, accompanied by a characteristic sound (the collector “slashes”)

If the problem cannot be resolved by tightening the exhaust manifold, replace the gasket.

We disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold or remove the exhaust pipe from the engine, to do this:

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Unscrew the four nuts and locknuts securing the muffler exhaust pipe to the engine exhaust manifold

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Unscrew the bolt securing the exhaust pipe of the muffler to the bracket on the gearbox

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Having loosened the clamp with a screwdriver, remove it from the fitting and move the vacuum booster hose to the side.

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Using a 14mm socket, unscrew the eight nuts securing the exhaust manifold to the block head.

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Remove the washers and screen from the studs

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Remove the engine lift bracket

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Remove the bracket securing the water intake tube

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Remove the exhaust manifold.

Replacing the exhaust manifold gasket

Remove the exhaust manifold gaskets from the studs

Carefully clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and exhaust manifold

We mount the exhaust manifold in the reverse order, having previously installed four gaskets on the studs.
