When checking the suspension, make sure that the suspension parts are not cracked or rubbed against road obstacles or the body
Rubber-metal hinges and rubber pads must be replaced in case of ruptures and one-sided swelling of the rubber, as well as when cutting their end surfaces.
Suspensions on rubber parts are not allowed:
- - signs of rubber aging;
- - mechanical damage.
On rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks) are not allowed:
- - signs of aging, cracks, one-sided bulging of the rubber mass;
- - removal of the rubber array from the armature
Replace defective parts.
If there is a knock on the front suspension, then the reason may be:
- - wear of threaded bushings (replace threaded bushings);
- - lack of lubrication in the threaded bushings (lubricate the threaded bushings);
- - loosening the fastening of the front suspension beam to the side members (tighten the threaded connections);
- - kingpin wear (rotate the kingpin by 90° or replace the kingpin with bearings);
- - wear of stabilizer bushings (replace stabilizer bushings);
- - loosening the shock absorber mount (tighten the mount);
- - wear of the lower joint of the front shock absorber (replace the shock absorber assembly or the lower joint).
If there is uneven wear on the tire tread pattern, then the reason may be:
- - violation of the angles of the front wheels (adjust the angles of the front wheels);
- - increased backlash of the front wheel hub bearings (adjust the tightening of the bearings);
- - loosening the fastening of the front suspension beam to the side members (tighten the threaded connections);
- - decrease in the efficiency of shock absorbers (replace shock absorbers);
- - unbalanced wheels (balance wheels);
- - the rubber bushings of the front suspension arms are worn out (replace the bushings).
Failure cause - Remedy
Too much steering force when turning the wheel and abrupt reset when exiting the turn
Positive pitch of the kingpins too large - Adjust the caster of the kingpin
The steering wheel does not return to its original position when exiting a turn
Positive pitch of the kingpins too small - Adjust the caster of the kingpins
Suspension bumpson bumpy roads
Sag or broken front suspension spring - Replace spring
Reduced damper performance - Replace shock absorbers
Loss of elasticity or destruction of the compression stroke buffer - Replace the compression stroke buffer
Suspension creaking on road bumps
Worn out rubber bushings of front suspension arms - Replace bushings
Lack of grease in threaded bushings - Lubricate threaded bushings
Hard feeling suspension
Jamming the suspension arms with the thrust bushings turned out - Screw in the thrust bushings
