The fuel vapor recovery system units are removed for inspection or replacement if a persistent smell of gasoline appears, caused by leaks in the units and pipelines, as well as failure of the purge valve of the adsorber

In addition, leaks in the adsorber and failure of the purge valve can cause unstable engine operation at idle up to stopping.

You will need: a 10 mm wrench, a screwdriver.

To replace the purge valve of the adsorber, disconnect the wiring harness connector from the valve

Loosen the clamps of the vacuum and purge hoses and disconnect them, having previously marked them to install them in their original places.

Pry off the plastic holder with a screwdriver

Remove the purge valve.

To remove the adsorber, perform steps 1 and 2, unscrew the clamp bolt of the adsorber mount

Remove the adsorber.

To remove the two-way valve, loosen the hose clamps and remove the valve from the line.

To remove the gravity valve, remove the right side trim of the trunk (see. "Replacing the fuel tank Niva Chevrolet"), loosen the hose clamps, remove the hoses from the valve pipes and remove the valve from the filler pipe opening.

Install the fuel vapor recovery system components in the reverse order of removal.
