Replace or check the solenoid if the reverse gear does not engage
We perform the work on a lift or inspection pit.
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
Drain the oil from the gearbox.
To unscrew the solenoid, first use a 13 key to unscrew the plug of the reverse gear engagement fork lock.
Remove the retainer spring. You don't have to remove the locking ball from the socket.
After squeezing the block lock, disconnect the wiring block from the solenoid.
Use a 36 key to unscrew the solenoid
And remove the solenoid
To check the operability of the solenoid, connect the wires to its terminals
If the solenoid core retracts when connecting the wires to the battery terminals, then the solenoid is working properly.
Before screwing in the solenoid, apply silicone sealant to its threaded part.
Install the reverse gear lock solenoid in the reverse order.
