Possible malfunctions of the clutch and its drive ZIL-5301

Symptom / Cause of malfunction / Remedy

Clutch slippage, torque is not transmitted from the engine to the transmission:

- No free play of the clutch release

Adjust clutch release play

- Oiling the friction surface

Degrease friction surfaces

Remove oil from entering the clutch housing.

  • - Wear or destruction of friction linings
  • - Destruction of the driven disk damper disks

Replace slave drive

Check the alignment of the shafts of the engine and gearbox, correct the misalignment, replace the driven disk.

Incomplete clutch disengagement, clutch "leads":

- The required travel of the clutch release clutch is not provided

Check the drive for proper operation (air ingress into the hydraulic system, leakage of working fluid, increased free play in the drive, low pedal travel, etc.) Eliminate any malfunctions

- The adjustment of the pressure plate levers is broken

Adjust levers

- Increased end runout of the driven disk

Straighten driven disk

Clutch disengagement delay when starting off and shifting gears:

- Hardening of the working fluid (increase in viscosity) in the hydraulic system at low temperature

Flush the hydraulic system and fill it with clean working fluid

Air leakage through the exhaust valve (PGU) when pressing the pedal:

- Wear or destruction of the CCGT cuff

Replace cuff

Clutch does not hold disengaged when pedal is depressed (Pedal drops):

- Displacement of the air valve of the CCGT reducer

Make a few sharp clicks on the clutch pedal

- Destruction of the rubber sealing ring of the master cylinder piston pusher.

Replace ring

The hydraulic system is not pumping:

- Wear of the piston or cuff of the master cylinder

Replace piston or seal

- Lack of free play of the pusher of the main cylinder, violation of the adjustment of the free play of the pusher, pedal sticking

Adjust pushrod freeplay

Remove pedal sticking

Strong noise and grinding when disengaging the clutch:

- Wear or jamming of the clutch release bearing

Replace the bearing, check the condition of the pressure plate levers and replace if necessary, or replace the entire pressure plate assembly with casing

new
