The air filter element replacement is scheduled - every 30,000 km
The filter condition depends on the vehicle operating conditions: on dustier and more polluted roads, the element gets clogged faster.
You will need a screwdriver.
For ease of work, remove the decorative engine cover (see "How to remove the decorative engine cover Niva Chevrolet") and disconnect the wiring harness block from the mass air flow sensor.
Remove the four screws securing the filter cover
Lift the cover and remove the filter element from it.
Install a new filter element in the cover, orienting it in the same way as the previous one was oriented (pay attention to the direction of the element corrugations).
Install the filter cover together with the filter element and tighten the screws securing it.
Removing and installing the air filter
The air filter is removed to gain access to other units in engine compartment, as well as if it is damaged.
You will need: keys "8" and "10" (preferably socket), screwdriver.
Remove the decorative engine cover.
Loosen the fastening clamp and disconnect the left part of the air supply pipe from the mass air flow sensor and move it to the side.
Remove the two bolts securing the front bracket
Remove the two bolts securing the rear filter bracket
Remove the filter together with the brackets and the mass air flow sensor
If it is necessary to replace the filter, remove the mass air flow sensor from it by unscrewing the two mounting bolts.
To disconnect the brackets from the filter housing in order to install them on the new filter, push the heads of the rubber filter supports out of the bracket holes, lubricating them with engine oil to make dismantling easier.
The manufacturer recommends cutting the supports with a knife.
In this case, you will have to replace them with new ones.
Install all removed units and parts on the new filter and install the filter on the car in the reverse order of removal.
