The additional resistor is used to obtain different rotation speeds of the heater fan motor

If the additional resistor fails, replace it

You will need a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

Remove the right windshield frame trim.

Disconnect the connector with wires from the resistor terminals.

Remove the screw fasteners

Remove the additional resistor from the heater.

For clarity, the work is shown on a removed heater.

Install the resistor in the reverse order of removal.

The heater flap gear motor and its position sensor are made in a single unit.

You will need a Phillips screwdriver blade.

Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

Remove the heater.

Unscrew the three screws securing the gearmotor unit to the heater body.

Remove the unit and the heater flap position sensor.

Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
