We are replacing the gasket due to its burnout
We are preparing the car for repair work. We install the car on an inspection pit or on a lift.
Unscrew and remove the power unit protection
Disconnect the inlet pipe from the manifold.
To do this, use a 14 key to unscrew the two nuts securing the intake pipe.
The exhaust manifold is supported from below by a bracket attached to the cylinder block.
Using a 16 head or an open-end wrench, unscrew nut 1 and bolt 2 securing the bracket to the cylinder block
Remove the manifold mounting bracket
Remove the air filter housing.
With the head on 10 unscrew the five bolts securing the upper heat shield.
Before unscrewing, wet the threads with WD-40 penetrating liquid or brake fluid.
Remove the control oxygen concentration sensor.
To do this, disconnect the wiring harness block to the sensor.
Put a 22 mm open-end wrench through the wire.
Unscrew the oxygen concentration sensor
We take out the oxygen concentration sensor from the exhaust manifold hole.
Wet the manifold mounting nuts with penetrating liquid WD-40 or kerosene
Head 10 unscrew the nine nuts securing the exhaust manifold flange to the cylinder head
Remove the manifold assembly with the lower heat shield
Removing the exhaust cylinder gasket
If the manifold is subject to replacement, then unscrew the five nuts securing the lower heat shield and remove it.
Before installing the manifold, all surfaces clean and inspect the parts.
Before tightening the manifold nuts, apply graphite grease to all manifold studs.
Tighten the manifold mounting nuts sequentially from the center to the edge. The tightening torque of the nuts should be 18 Nm.
