Replacing a fine filter element with a ZMZ-402 engine
You can replace the filter element or disassemble the filter without removing the filter from the engine
Depending on the design, a filter element made of brass mesh, filter paper or porous ceramics can be installed inside the filter settling cup.
Unscrew the wing nut at the bottom of the filter.
Move the glass holder to the side.
Take out the glass, drain the remaining fuel, remove the filter element and spring
We wash the removed parts in solvent. Carefully assemble the filter with the new element in reverse order
It is necessary to ensure that the pressure spring is located in the recess of the filter element without distortion, and that the element itself is accurately placed on the centering collar of the housing.
The wing nut of the bracket should only be tightened by hand.
If the gasket is damaged and fuel leaks between the cover and the filter sump, replace the rubber sealing gasket of the sump by removing it from the groove in the housing.
When using a filter element made of brass mesh or ceramic, it should be washed in clean gasoline and reused.
Replace the paper element with a new one.

Replacing the fuel filter on cars with ZMZ-405, ZMZ-406 engines
It is recommended to replace the filter every 80 thousand kilometers.
But the condition of the filter depends on the quality of gasoline.
Jerking when the car moves, first at high and then at low speeds, indicates a clogged filter.
A decrease in filter throughput is indicated by an increased noise level of the electric fuel pump.
Install the car on a lift or inspection hole.
Reduce the pressure in the power system.
Squeeze the plastic tip of the fuel supply pipe
Remove the tip from the fuel filter fitting
Disconnect the fuel line connector on the other side of the filter
Holding the nut from turning, unscrew the pinch bolt of the clamp securing the fuel filter to the bracket.
Remove the filter
Install the fuel filter so that the arrow on its body is directed in the direction of fuel flow
Install the fuel filter in reverse order and check the connections for leaks.
