We carry out the work on an inspection pit or lift
When working on an inspection pit, we hang up the rear of the car.
We disconnect the lower shock absorber mount (see Removing the shock absorber).
We pry the spring with a screwdriver by the lower coil
Removing the spring.
Remove the spring insulating gasket.
To replace the compression buffer, remove it from the limiter hole.
Before installing the spring, tie an insulating gasket to it
Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
Check the elastic characteristics of the spring at the control points, having previously compressed it until the coils touch.
By length under a load of 3425 N (350 kgf), springs are divided into two classes: class "A" - length over 278 mm and class "B" - length equal to or less than 278 mm.
Class "A" springs are not marked, and class "B" are marked with black paint on the outer side of the coils.
Check for spring deformation.
If the spring elasticity does not correspond to the data or deformations can cause the spring to malfunction, replace it.
Check the condition of the rubber support pads of the springs; if necessary, replace them with new ones.
