Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

Open the cover of the fuse box in the passenger compartment and disconnect the pads of the instrument panel wiring harness from the trunk lock drive switch and from the headlight range control.

Remove the brake signal switch, as described in the article - "Replacing the vacuum booster".

Disconnecting the brake pedal from the brake booster: 1 - axle fixing bracket; 2 - brake booster rod fork; 3 - axle connecting fork of brake booster rod and brake pedal; 4 - brake pedal bracket; 5 - brake pedal

Using a flat-head screwdriver, remove bracket 1, Figure 1, and extract axle 3 from the holes in fork 2 of the brake booster rod and brake pedal 5.

Remove the accelerator pedal bracket with the pedal assembly.

Using a 13 mm socket, unscrew the four nuts 1, Figure 2, securing the brake pedal bracket and remove brake pedal 2 with the bracket assembly.

Installing the brake pedal

Check the pedal parts for defects. Replace defective parts.

Install the brake pedal with the bracket assembly on the vacuum booster studs, tighten and tighten the four bracket mounting nuts.

Tightening torque of the nuts is 18 - 24 Nm (1.8 - 2.4 kgf.m).

Install the gas pedal bracket with the pedal assembly.

Install the connecting axle 3, Figure 1, in the holes of the fork 2 of the brake booster rod and the brake pedal 5 and fix it with bracket 1.

Install the brake signal switch.

Connect the pads of the instrument panel wiring harness to the trunk lock drive switch and to the headlight corrector, install the fuse box cover in the car interior.

Install and adjust the signal switch braking.

Connect the negative terminal of the battery and close the hood.
