If the position of the front wheels corresponds to straight-line movement, and the steering wheel spokes are not horizontal, this indicates a violation of the wheel alignment angles, or the presence of defects in the steering or suspension
Disconnect the battery using the master disconnect switch.
For ease of subsequent assembly, set the front wheels to the straight-line driving position.

Pry off the decorative trim with a screwdriver and remove it.

Hold the steering wheel to prevent it from turning, and use a 24mm socket to unscrew the nut. Pull the steering wheel off the shaft splines using a special puller.

If a puller is not available, leave the nut on the thread flush with the end of the threaded part of the shaft.
Press the rim from below with your knees and strike the end of the shaft with a hammer through a brass drift to knock the steering wheel off the splines.

After completely unscrewing the nut, remove the steering wheel from the shaft.

Use a slotted screwdriver to unscrew the two screws holding the steering column covers together.

Remove the upper cover

Move the steering column to its highest position. Tilt the upper edge of the cover toward you until its retainer comes out of the column slot.

Remove the cover by sliding it upward
The steering column can be removed from the vehicle separately by disconnecting the shaft universal joint from the steering column.
To do this, you would have to knock the wedge out of the yoke while hanging, which is inconvenient.

Therefore, we recommend removing the column together with the propeller shaft assembly.

In the engine compartment, use pliers to remove the cotter pin from the wedge hole.

Use a 13mm wrench to unscrew the nut, leaving it on the thread flush with the end of the wedge

Use a hammer to knock out the wedge through a brass drift, and then completely unscrew the nut to remove the wedge.

Remove the wedge.

Remove the joint yoke from the steering gear shaft.

Push out the spring retainers of the shaft seal.

Use a 12mm socket to unscrew the four bolts securing the steering column

Remove it together with the propeller shaft assembly.

Remove the universal joint yoke from the steering column shaft (similar to removing the joint yoke from the steering gear shaft)

Disconnect the propeller shaft assembly from the steering column.
Remove the ignition switch from the steering column.
Hold the bolt with a 12mm wrench and use a 13mm wrench to unscrew the nut

Remove the bolt and bushing.

After unscrewing the second mounting bolt (which has no bushing), remove the steering column bracket

Assemble and install the removed parts in reverse order.

The lower cover is attached: with an L-shaped protrusion behind the steering column bolt, and with a flat protrusion behind the steering column slot.
Install the steering wheel in the straight-line position onto the steering shaft splines, ensuring that the wheels have not turned to the side.
Adjusting the position of the steering column
The position of the steering column can be adjusted for height and tilt angle.

Raise the steering column lock handle upward.
Set the steering wheel to the desired position and lower the handle fully down.
If the lock is loose and no longer holds the column in the desired position, remove the column covers.

Using two 13mm wrenches, loosen the lock nut and tighten the nut on the bolt securing the lock handle.
After ensuring the lock operates correctly, tighten the lock nut and install the covers back in place.
