Reworking the ZIL-5301 compressor
Craftsmen have come up with one good thing.
Replaced the standard compressor with a compressor from a PAZ bus
This removed the load from the fuel pump shaft.
Because during operation, the bearing on the high-pressure fuel pump quickly fails.
Which in turn breaks the body of the pump itself. And we got rid of unnecessary noise.
For this we will need:
- the compressor itself with a pulley;
- - compressor mounting plate, 5 mm thick plate;
- - belt, selected by size;
You can see how it all looks in the photos.
The fan corners need to be trimmed so that the blades do not touch the compressor pulley.
We install under the plate and under the compressor gaskets.
The oil supply hose is the same.
Of course, in this case you need to carefully monitor the drive belts.
And it is advisable to install a tension roller on the compressor drive.
