The ZIL-5301 vehicles use a single-plate dry clutch with a spring damper of torsional vibrations on the driven disk.

The clutch housing is made of steel, attached to the flywheel with eight special centering bolts.

The pressure plate is made of gray cast iron, attached to the housing with four pairs of spring plates that transmit torque from the housing to the pressure plate and provide axial movement of the pressure plate.

Clutch: 1 - crankshaft; 2 - flywheel; 3 - pressure plate; 4 - spring plate; 5 - spring plate bushing; 6 - plate fastening bolt; 7 - housing; 8 - pressure spring; 9 - casing; 10 - heat-insulating washer of pressure spring; 11 - bearing; 12 - clutch; 13 - clutch return spring; 14 - bearing cover; 15 - clutch release fork; 16 - clutch release lever; 17 - adjusting nut; 18 - fork; 19 - adjusting nut support plate; 20 - pin; 21 - clutch housing cover; 22 - needle roller; 23 - clutch housing fastening bolt; 24 - cotter pin; 25 - flywheel ring gear; 26 - driven clutch disc; 27 - primary shaft of the gearbox; 28 - front bearing of the primary shaft of the gearbox

Torque is transmitted by four pairs of spring plates from the clutch housing to the pressure plate.

The pressure force is created by sixteen springs installed between the clutch housing and the pressure plate.

The levers of the pressure plate are made of steel, the hinges of the levers have needle bearings.
