We replace the brake disc if cracks or severe scuffing appears on its surfaces, as well as if it is worn to a thickness of less than 19 mm
Remove the wheel.
Using a 14mm socket, unscrew the six bolts securing the brake disc to the hub.
In this case, the hub can be stopped from turning either by pressing the brake pedal
If there is no assistant, insert a metal rod (mounting blade) between the wheel studs and rest it on the floor
Remove the bracket (see How to replace the brake caliper of the front wheel of a Gazelle car) and place it next to the beam so that the brake hose is not stretched.
WARNING: Do not press the brake pedal with the brake caliper removed.
Use sliding pliers or a special “50” wrench from the standard set to unscrew the hub cap.
Use pliers to unscrew the adjusting nut and remove the cotter pin
Use a special wrench from the standard set or a 36mm socket to unscrew the adjusting nut
There is a washer installed under the nut
Carefully holding the outer bearing from falling out, remove the hub and brake disc.
We install a new brake disc on the hub, lubricating its seating belt and bolts with graphite grease.
Tighten the six disk mounting bolts.
Install the hub and disk assembly onto the car in the reverse order of removal.
Adjust the clearance in the hub bearings (see Replacing and adjusting bearings, replacing the front wheel cuffs of a Gazelle car).
We carry out further assembly in reverse order.
