Engine repair

Draining sediment from the coarse fuel filter, washing the filter
Unscrew the drain plug 6 (Fig. 1), drain the sediment from the filter.
Before starting the adjustment, flush the oil chamber of the pump and regulator with clean diesel fuel and fill with fresh engine oil up to the level of the drain hole. For the duration of the test, plug the drain fitting

When servicing each injector, check and adjust in the following order:
1. Adjust each nozzle to the injection start pressure:

The service life of the engine depends on the timely and thorough lubrication, as well as on the grade and quality of the oils and greases used
Install the driven half-coupling (Fig. 1, 2) on the advance clutch (damper clutch) and fasten with bolts
Turn the coupling so that the bosses of the driven coupling half are in a horizontal position, and the mark on the end of the coupling is in the indicator zone
The normal operation of the engine and its long service life can only be ensured if all recommendations are followed.
The power units are designed for operation at ambient temperatures from minus 60ºС to plus 50ºС, relative humidity up to 98% at a temperature of 25ºС, air dust content up to 0.4 g / m3, as well as for vehicle movement in mountainous conditions at an altitude of up to 4500 m above sea level and overcoming passes up to 4650 m above sea level with a corresponding decrease in power and economic indicators.
To adjust the fuel injection advance angle, two hatches are provided on the flywheel housing (see Fig. 1), and the angle values \u200b\u200bare marked on the flywheel in two places

Thermal gaps in the valve mechanism are used to ensure a hermetic fit of the valve on the seat, when the parts of the valve drive expand during engine operation
The YaMZ-238 diesel engine is equipped with a turbocharger that uses the energy of exhaust gases to boost the engine
By increasing the mass of air entering the cylinders, the turbocharger contributes to more efficient combustion of the increased dose of fuel, thereby increasing engine power at moderate thermal stress.
