Installing the ZIL-5301 battery
The ZIL-5301 battery consists of two paired 12-volt batteries connected in series.
The battery is installed in a special box attached to the vehicle frame.
The compressor is designed to compress air and then pump it into the pneumatic system.
The compressor is installed on the left side of the engine timing gear cover.
Air cylinders (receivers) are designed to store and supply compressed air to the ZIL-5301 brake system.
The cylinders are secured to the vehicle frame using brackets and band clamps.
