Removing the beam from the car is not required to replace the silent block. We change silent blocks one by one:
- first at one, then at the other beam lever.
To complete the work you will need:
- - stand for the car;
- - universal cup puller.
We prepare the car for work.
We place the car on a reliable stand and remove the rear wheel.
Disconnect the elastic lever of the pressure regulator from the earring.
Disconnect the parking brake cable from the beam and bracket.
Use a 19mm spanner to unscrew the nut, holding the bolt securing the lever to the bracket, and use another wrench of the same size to remove the bolt.
Insert a wooden block between the body and the beam. At the same time, make sure that the brake hose of the rear wheel is not stretched
Using a cup puller for wheel bearings or suitable pipe sections, press the silent block towards the car sill.
The bolt of the wheel bearing remover does not fit into the hole in the silent block, so we replace it with a bolt or screw Ø 12 mm. (Cylinder head screw is suitable).
Squeeze the silent block into the puller cup. We clean the hole for the silent block in the lever from dirt.
The silent block has a stop on one edge, and therefore it should only be pressed out towards the threshold of the car.
Wet the new silent block and the hole in the beam with soapy water
Insert the silent block into the hole in the lever and press it in with the same puller.
Install the lever into the body bracket and fix it with a bolt and nut without tightening it.
The lever fastening bolt is inserted into the body bracket from the side of the car threshold.
Insert the elastic lever of the pressure regulator into the earring and secure it with a stopper.
Attach the handbrake cable to the brackets.
Install the wheel and remove the car from the stands.
Press the rear of the car several times to self-install the suspension.
Finally tighten the nut of the lever mounting bolt to a torque of 66.6-82.3 Nm (6.8-8.4 kgf-m).
We replace the silent block of the second lever in the same way.
