Changing the oil in the gearbox

The gearbox oil needs to be changed after 75 thousand km of the car.

It is better to change the oil in a warm gearbox after a trip.

We install the car on an inspection ditch or a lift.

Removing engine mudguards on a manual vehicle: 1 - screw; 2 - middle mudguard; 3 - left mudguard; 4 - bolt; 5 - right mudguard

Unscrew the bolts securing the engine protection and remove the protection (Fig. 7).

Place a container under the drain hole to drain the oil.

Use a 17mm socket or a spanner to loosen the drain plug

Unscrew the plug by hand and drain the oil from the gearbox

After draining the oil, wipe the drain hole and drain plug.

Wrap the plug and tighten it to a torque of 28.7-46.3 Nm (2.9-4.7 kgf.m)

3.1 liters of transmission oil is poured into the gearbox housing.

Gearbox oil brands depending on temperature:

  • - SAE 80W-85(API GL-4, GL-4/5) from –26 °C to +35 °C;
  • - SAE 75W-90 (GL-4/5) from –40 °C to +45 °C
