Change the grease in the bearings at intervals specified in the service book.
If there is not enough grease or it is contaminated, the bearings will quickly fail
You will need: 13 mm wrenches (two), a torque wrench, a lug wrench, pliers, a screwdriver, a hammer, clean Litol-24 grease, a container for washing the parts.
Remove the wheel.
Remove the brake pads
Remove the caliper without disconnecting the brake hydraulic hose, and, moving the caliper to the side, secure it (for example, with wire) so that the caliper does not hang on the hydraulic hose.
Remove the rubber holder from the bracket together with the hose.
Unpin the nut of the outer joint pin of the side rod, unscrew the nut and, After installing the puller, press the hinge pin out of the pivot arm boss.
Unscrew the three nuts on the bolts securing the ball joint and ball joint to the levers.
Unscrew the hub nut.
Remove the bolts and remove the steering knuckle assembly with the joints
Using a suitable mandrel, press the hub out of the inner bearing rings
Using a screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the hub.
Once pressed out, the oil seal is not suitable for further use. Replace it with a new one
Remove the spacer ring and the inner bearing ring.
Check the reliability of the fit of the outer bearing rings in the steering knuckle housing.
The rings should not turn with manual force.
Wash all parts with kerosene.
Fill the inner cavity of the steering knuckle with grease, apply grease to the outer and inner bearing rings.
Install the inner bearing ring and spacer ring into the steering knuckle.
Press the oil seal into the steering knuckle seat. You can use an old oil seal as a mandrel
Install the steering knuckle in the reverse order of removal.
Adjust the clearance in the hub bearings.
