The vehicle is equipped with a permanent magnet-excited heater fan motor
Data for checking the heater fan motor
Shaft rotation speed when the electric motor is loaded with an impeller at a voltage of 12 V and a temperature of (25+10)°C, min -1 3000
Current consumption at a specified load and rotation speed, A, no more than 18
An additional resistor is installed in the electric motor power supply circuit to obtain different rotation speeds.
The resistor has three spirals and a fuse.
When current passes through all three spirals, the 1st rotation speed of the heater fan is ensured, if the current passes through two spirals - the 2nd speed, through one - the 3rd speed.
When the electric motor is turned on without an additional resistor, the fan motor armature rotates at maximum 4th speed (3000 min -1).
If the electric motor fails, replace it with a new one. The only possible repair of the electric motor is to clean the collector.
Removing and installing the heater fan motor
You will need a screwdriver.
Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Remove the glove compartment.
Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the motor.
Disconnect the air supply hose.
Remove the three screws securing the electric fan heater
Remove the electric fan assembly with the impeller
Remove the spring washer
Remove the impeller.
Install the impeller on the electric motor and the electric fan on the car in the reverse order of removal.
Removing and installing an additional heater fan resistor
You will need a screwdriver.
Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the heater
Remove the screw securing the additional resistor and remove the resistor.
Install the resistor in the reverse order of removal.
