Remove the instrument panel to repair and replace the heater and to access other parts and units of the car
You will need: keys "10", "13", screwdrivers with a flat and Phillips blade.
Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
Unscrew the five screws of the steering column trim cover, remove the upper and lower parts of the cover.
Remove the steering wheel.
Remove the steering column switches.
Remove the ignition switch (lock) (see "Ignition switch Niva Chevrolet").
Remove the steering column shaft.
Remove the radio mounting panel.
Remove the floor tunnel trim.
Remove front pillar trims.
You may need new harness clamps when installing the instrument cluster, as in some places they are easier to cut than to disconnect.
When disconnecting harness connectors, mark them relative to each other.
This will make the job easier when installing the instrument cluster. Mark the free pads separately.
Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness pad located in the accelerator pedal area.
Disconnect the wiring harness blocks from the brake light switch and the control unit of the car anti-theft system.
Disconnect the three wiring harness blocks of the dashboard, located behind the mounting block.
Unscrew the screw and disconnect the "ground" wire from the body.
Open hood.
Remove the windshield trim panel and wiper mechanism (see "Replacing and repairing the Niva Chevrolet windshield wiper").
Remove the outside air filter.
Unscrew the air intake housing mounting screws.
Drain some of the coolant and disconnect the heater radiator pipes.
Unscrew the bolt securing the crossbar of the panel to the rack.
Unscrew the bolt securing the rack to the bracket and remove the crossbar rack.
Unscrew the four bolts securing the instrument panel crossbar to the steering shaft bracket.
Unscrew the bolts of the side fastenings of the instrument panel (left and right)
Remove insert the instrument panel
Unscrew the bolts located in the front part of the instrument panel along the lower edge of the windshield.
Remove the front air duct for heating the passenger compartment.
Remove the dashboard assembly with the heater and wiring harness.
Install the dashboard and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
Add fluid to the cooling system (see "Replacing the cooling fluid Niva Chevrolet")
