Removing the front door upholstery to repair the internal parts of the car door
Removing the front door trim
Use a thin screwdriver to pry off the two plugs of the door handle.
With a head or a 10" tubular wrench, unscrew the two bolts and remove the handle.
Using a screwdriver, we unscrew the screw securing the socket of the door lock handle.
Pushing the handle towards you, remove the socket.
Pressing out the rubber socket of the window handle
With an awl or a needle, we squeeze out and remove the locking pin from the hole in the handle
Remove the handle with the socket.
Having prying off with a screwdriver, we “snap off” eight plastic upholstery clips.
Removing the upholstery
Prying with a knife, carefully, so as not to tear, remove the soundproofing gasket (it is glued to the sealant)
Install upholstery in reverse order.
Removing the front door lock
Remove the door upholstery.
Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screw securing the glass guide
Remove the guide.
Use a screwdriver to disconnect the door handle rod from the lock.
Use a screwdriver to unscrew the two screws securing the inner door handle.
Remove the handle along with the rod
Using a screwdriver, disconnect the outer rodoh the door handle from the lock.
Using a 10 key, we unscrew the two bolts securing the door handle.
Remove its outer part
Removing the inside.
Disconnect the lock rod from the lock switch.
Remove the button with your hand.
Using a screwdriver, we unscrew the two screws securing the locking mechanism of the lock
Remove the lock mechanism.
Using a screwdriver, we unscrew the two screws securing the lock drive bracket.
We take out the lever mechanism of the lock together with the drive bracket and rods.
Using the “10” key, unscrew the locking bolt securing the lock switch by 2–3 turns.
From the inside of the door with thin pliers, we unpin and remove the leash from the switch (for clarity, the details are shown on the removed switch).
Remove the lock switch.
The leash on the lock switch is installed only in a certain position.
With a large screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the door latch to the body (cabin)
Remove the retainer
Install the lock in reverse order, lubricating the rubbing joints (you can dip the mechanism in engine oil and let the excess drain)
After installing the latch, we check the operation of the lock.
When properly adjusted, the lock should not rest against the latch with the body of the locking mechanism.
Otherwise, we loosen the fixing screws of the latch and, moving it along the elongated holes, adjust its position, and then tighten it retainer screws.
