Removing the fan belt

Loosen the belt tension (not shown in the photo), to do this, loosen the tightening of nut 1 and adjusting bolt 2 and turn bracket 3 with tension roller 4 to the engine cylinder block

Remove the belt.

Removing the fan belt

Inspect the belt.

If there are cracks, rubber delamination, tears, etc., replace the belt.

Installing the belt

Installing the belt

Place belt 2 on fan pulley 1, then on crankshaft pulley 4 and tension roller 3.

After installing the belt, you need to adjust its tension.

Adjusting belt tension

Adjusting belt tension

Loosen the tightening of the nut 1 securing the tension roller bracket 3 and the adjusting bolt 2.

Rotate bracket 3 with roller 4 away from the engine block, thereby tensioning the belt.

Tighten bolt 2 and check the belt tension as indicated above.

If the belt tension is normal, tighten nut 1.

With correctly adjusted tension, the belt should bend by 7–9 mm when a force of 40 N (4 kgf) is applied in the middle between the fan pulley and the tension roller.

Belt tension is adjusted by moving the tension roller.
