In this article we will look at disassembling the tailgate of a Niva Chevrolet
To complete the task you will need the following keys: TORX T20, T40 key, screwdriver set, 8, 10, 13 key, 8, 13 heads.
Removing the tailgate trim

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the four screws securing the upper door trim

Removing the upper door trim

Remove the plug from the right trim using a flat-head screwdriver

Unscrew the screw securing the right trim using a TORX T20 key. Also unscrew the screw of the left trim

Unscrew the two screws securing the right trim with a Phillips screwdriver

Remove the right door trim

Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw securing the left trim

Remove the left door trim

Unscrew the trunk lid washer reservoir cap

Remove the rubber lining of the tank neck
Pry up with a screwdriver and separate the door trim from the inner door panel

Put a piece of rag under the screwdriver so as not to damage the paint.
Separate the trim, starting from the door lock and then moving along the perimeter.

Removing the trim. There are 12 pins on the trim.
If the pins are damaged, replace them with new ones.
Removing and installing the trunk lid lock
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Remove the trunk lid trim as described above.

Disconnect the wiring blocks of the trunk lid light switch and the electric drive

Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the end of the lock switch rod from the door handle

Use a screwdriver to pry off the door handle rod from the lock lever

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws securing the lock to the door

Removing the lock

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws
Remove the electric drive of the lock

Install the lock in the reverse order
Removing the outer handle of the tailgate
Remove the door trim as described above.
Disconnect the lock switch rods and door handles, described above

Using an 8 mm spanner, unscrew the nut securing the outer handle

Using a 10 mm spanner, unscrew the bolt securing the outer handle

Move the outer handle to the left until it stops; in this position, the locking protrusions of the handle disengage from the corresponding protrusions on the luggage compartment panel (Fig. 22)

Move the handle all the way up and remove it from the door panel holes.
Install the handle in the reverse order
Removing the stud and stud socket of the trunk lid (old design)

Using an 8 mm socket, unscrew the two bolts securing the cleat to the door

Removing the cleat

To remove the tailgate stud, mark the position of the stud socket relative to the body

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the three screws fastening the tenon socket

Removing the cleat socket together with the gasket
Removing the cleat and cleat socket of the trunk door (new design)

Marking the cleat position

Use a 13 key to unscrew the cleat

Mark the position of the stud socket

Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the three screws securing the socket (you can use an impact screwdriver)
Mark the position of the tailgate lock retainer and use an impact screwdriver with a TORX T40 bit to unscrew the two retainer screws.

Install the parts in reverse order.
Install the parts according to the established marks.
