Inspection and troubleshooting of parts of the GAZ-2705 gearbox

Rinse thoroughly the parts and components of the gearbox and blow with compressed air

Conduct an external inspection of parts and assemblies.

Replace damaged gaskets.

Check the condition of the shafts. In the presence of piping (shells) on the journals and bearing seats, or signs of visible wear, the shafts must be replaced.

When replacing the input shaft, it is necessary to check the ease of its movement in the clutch disc.

To do this, insert it into the splined hole of the driven disk (the clutch can not be disassembled) and move the input shaft in the longitudinal direction.

Check the condition of the gearbox gears.

If there are chips and chipping of teeth, scuffs on the surfaces of the holes, replace the gears.

Check the condition of the bearings.

In the presence of piping (shells) on the treadmills and rolling elements, traces of indentation of the rolling elements on the treadmills, damage to the cages, replace the bearings.

Check the status of synchronizers.

If there are chips and nicks on the splines of the hub and sliding sleeve, wear of crackers and breakage of springs, the synchronizer must be replaced.

Check the condition of the synchronizer blocking rings.

If there are nicks and chips on the gear rims, if there is a significant wear on the cones, replace the blocking rings.

Inspection and troubleshooting of GAZ-2705 gearbox parts

Check the gap between the gears and the corresponding locking rings, which should be between 1.1-1.5 mm.

Otherwise, the blocking ring must be replaced.

Check the condition of the shift rods.

In the presence of curvature, scuffing and burrs, loosening of the hole for the locking pin, making holes for the retainers, the rods must be replaced.

Check the condition of the shift forks.

Replace if the lugs are worn and the forks are bent.

If oil leaks through the seals during operation, as well as wear of the working edges, replace the seals.

Check the condition of the gearbox cases.

If cracks, nicks and deep scratches are found on the mating surfaces, crushing and wear in the bearing seats, replace the crankcases.

If scoring and deformation are found on the thrust washers and circlips, as well as if the circlips lose their elasticity, they must be replaced.
