Replacing the oil and oil filter of a GAZ-2705 engine with a ZMZ-402 engine
We carry out the operation on a warm engine or immediately after the trip.
Use a 24 key to unscrew the plug
Drain the oil into the prepared container (at least 6 liters).
Use a 14 key to unscrew the plug and drain the oil from the oil filter housing
Use a 24 wrench to unscrew the nut
Remove the oil filter housing cover
Remove the metal and rubber sealing washer
Take out the oil filter and remove the rod from it.
Install the new oil filter in reverse order.
At the same time as replacing the filter element, replace its rubber seals, as they quickly lose elasticity from hot oil
Tighten the plugs and replace the oil filter housing cover.
Fill the engine with 5.8 liters of fresh oil.
Start the engine for a few minutes, then stop it and, after waiting 5 minutes, check the oil level on the dipstick.
If necessary, add oil.
If necessary, drain the oil from the oil cooler.
Replacing the oil and oil filter of a GAZ-2705 engine with a ZMZ-406 engine
It is more convenient to carry out work in an inspection ditch.
Use a 24 wrench to unscrew the drain plug.
Drain the oil into a wide container with a volume of at least 6 liters placed under the crankcase and screw the plug into place. Duration of draining is at least 5 minutes.
Oil filter is easily accessible from the engine compartment, so we remove the engine splash guard
Unscrew the filter.
If the filter is tightly tightened, it is better to use a special puller to remove it.
If there is no puller, we pierce the filter housing with a large nail or drift and, using them as a lever, unscrew the filter.
Lubricate the gasket of the new filter with engine oil.
Having filled the filter halfway with engine oil, screw it onto the fitting and after the gasket comes into contact with the cylinder block, tighten it by hand ¾ of a turn
Pour fresh engine oil into the engine through a funnel and install the engine splash guard.
Start the engine, check for oil leaks, and if necessary, tighten leaky connections.
After stopping the engine, bring the oil level to normal.
