The fans of the VAZ-21214 engine cooling system rotate using two DC electric motors excited by permanent magnets

The engine control system controller controls the operation of the fans.

If the fan motor fails, it must be replaced.

You can remove the electric fans of the VAZ-21214 engine only after removing the radiator (see Removing the radiator). In the photo the hood is removed for clarity.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Tilt the electric fans with the casing towards the engine and remove them from the engine compartment.

The electric fan casing rests on the body cross member through rubber bushings

To replace the electric motor, pry off the lock washer with a screwdriver

Remove the impeller

Pay attention to the depressions in the impeller hub, into which the motor shaft pin must fit during installation.

Disconnect the motor wiring.

Use a 10mm socket to unscrew the three bolts securing the electric motor to the casing.

Install the electric fan in reverse order.
