The actual fuel consumption of the car may differ from that declared by the manufacturer due to the impact of various objective and subjective factors on the car: humidity, pressure and temperature of the ambient air, terrain (ups and downs), road surface characteristics, wind direction and speed, precipitation, fraction the composition of the fuel used, the selected gear of the transmission, the duration of the air conditioning system operation (both in driving mode and at idle), the position of the window glass (open/closed), the air pressure in the tires, as well as their dimensions, brand and model, the mass of the transported cargo, including the driver and passengers, the presence of a towed trailer (for transporting goods, boats, snowmobiles, caravans, etc.), its gross weight and aerodynamic drag, the driver's driving style (frequency and intensity of longitudinal and lateral acceleration, average speed of the vehicle), the presence of an automatic start system in the vehicle (including the engine and/or interior heating system), the running-in of a new vehicle (for vehicles with the "Gear Shift Advisor" function, it is recommended to ignore the requirements of the Gear Shift Advisor during the running-in period of the vehicle).
It is also necessary (once a month/quarter) to reset the readings of the on-board computer of the vehicle, since due to prolonged engine idling (traffic jam, long engine warm-up time, etc.) and low vehicle mileage, there is a significant increase in the readings of the on-board computer, which calculates the average fuel consumption based on the hourly engine consumption and the distance traveled by the car (since the last reset of the on-board computer).
The need to reset the on-board computer and the frequency is determined by the driver.
Power plant
Depending on the configuration, the LADA VESTA is equipped with an 8- or 16-valve engine.
