Most of the car's electrical circuits are protected by fuses

Powerful consumers (heated rear window, power windows, etc.) are connected via a relay.

Most of the fuse relays are installed in the relay and fuse mounting block located inside the vehicle.

Relays and fuses for the engine management system are located in separate blocks in the passenger compartment.

Replacing fuses and relays

The relay and fuse mounting block is located in the instrument panel under the cover, to the left of the steering column.

The cover contains a control unit for external lighting, instrument lighting and a regulator for the direction of headlight beams.

Replacing fuses and relays

To access the mounting block, pry the instrument panel cover on the left and right sides by the lugs.

And lower the lid

The sockets for fuses and relays are marked on the body of the mounting block, and on the inside of the cover there is a diagram of the location and the purpose of the fuses and relays.

Before replacing the relay and fuses, disconnect the wire terminal from the “negative” terminal of the battery.

A faulty fuse is identified by a blown jumper.

Replacing fuses and relays

To replace fuses, use small plastic tweezers.

Replacing fuses and relays

We also replace small relays using small tweezers.

Replacing fuses and relays

To replace the large relay, use large tweezers.

Replacing fuses and relays

To check the contacts of the wire lugs, you need to remove the mounting block from the panel socket.

To do this, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the self-tapping screw that secures the mounting block at the bottom.

Pull the block towards you and remove its two side clamps from the slots in the metal brackets of the instrument panel

Replacing fuses and relays

Remove the block from the instrument panel socket

After checking, install the block in the reverse order
