The car is equipped with two keys: a working key with a remote control and a training key with a red insert at the end

After activating the immobilizer, the training key becomes “their own” for the control units; in addition, you can encode a second working key.

The diagnostic equipment remote control only works after the immobilizer is activated.

The car is equipped with an electric door lock (central locking).

Remote control with key: 1 - button to lock the doors and turn on the security alarm; 2 - disarm button; 3 - trunk open button

The drives are built into the side door locks. The electric tailgate lock is installed only on some vehicles.

When the security alarm is turned on, the locks of all doors are automatically locked. The car is armed by pressing button 1

once

Pressing button 2 turns off the security alarm and disables the driver's door lock.

To disable the passenger door locks, press button 2 again.

A set of keys for a car: 1 - a key with a red insert at the end of the head (learning key); 2 - tag; 3 - key with remote control (working key)

Immobilizer activation

The immobilizer can be activated if the control system ECU has not previously undergone the immobilizer activation procedure. Activation must only be performed with the car doors closed.

  • 1. Insert the training key into the ignition switch
  • 2. Turn on the ignition. If the system is not activated, then after 6 seconds the immobilizer warning lamp in the instrument panel will light up. (after activating the immobilizer, the lamp will not light up).
  • 3. Turn off the ignition.

The control lamp should start flashing at a frequency of 5 times/sec. for no more than 6 seconds. (while the warning light is flashing) remove the training key from the ignition switch (lock) and insert the working key.

Turn on the ignition, and the buzzer of the immobilizer control unit should sound three beeps.

If no sound signals are heard and the indicator light stops flashing, it means:

  • - the time interval has been exceeded (you must activate the system again from the beginning);
  • - the working key has already been trained with another system;
  • - the anti-theft system is faulty.

4. After waiting for two more sound signals (which the system will sound 6 seconds after the last signal), turn off the ignition.

While the warning light is flashing (for 6 s), remove the working key from the lock, insert the training key into the lock and turn on the ignition again.

5. After turning on the ignition, the buzzer of the immobilizer control unit should sound three beeps.

After waiting for two more beeps, turn off the ignition without removing the key from the lock.

After 6 seconds, the buzzer should sound once and the indicator light should start flashing at double frequency.

If the beep does not sound and the indicator light stops flashing, you must activate the system again from the beginning.

If the execution fails again, it means that the ECU was activated with a different key. To activate the immobilizer, the ECU must be replaced.

  • 6. Within 3 seconds after the last beep, turn on the ignition for 2-3 seconds. After turning on the ignition, the system should emit three beeps and turn off the warning lamp.
  • 7. We take out the training key
  • 8. After waiting for at least 10 seconds, insert the working key and turn on the ignition
  • a) if after 6 seconds the indicator lamp does not blink, we test start the engine.

The engine should start;

  • b) if the warning light flashes, turn off the ignition and wait for at least 10 seconds. Turn on the ignition, the warning light should not flash and the engine should start
  • c) if, after turning on the ignition, after 6 seconds the control lamp lights up with a constant light, the learning procedure must be repeated from the beginning.

If the ECU or APS control unit malfunctions, replacing them requires the use of new “untrained” units, and the process of activating the immobilizer must be performed with “your” training key.

Replacing the battery in the key remote control

The CR2032 type element is used to power the remote control. Press any of the buttons on the control panel.

In this case, the indicator should light up briefly or on the remote control. If the indicator does not light up or lights up with two short flashes, you need to replace the battery.

Execution sequence

  • 1. Using a Phillips screwdriver with a thin blade, unscrew the self-tapping screw that holds the two parts of the remote control body together.
  • 2. Using a slotted screwdriver, inserting its blade into the groove, we separate the parts of the remote control body.
  • 3. We remove the replacement battery and install a new one, observing the polarity indicated on the battery holder.
  • 4. We squeeze the parts of the remote control housing until the latches snap into place. Then we wrap the self-tapping screw.

Removing the immobilizer control unit

  • 1. Remove the negative terminal of the battery.
  • 2. Remove the instrument panel trim.

Removing the immobilizer control unit

  • 3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the unit to the instrument panel, holding the screw nuts with a 10 mm wrench.
  • 4. We remove the block from the instrument panel and disconnect the harness block

Removing the remote control unit

Raise the rear seat cushion. Loosen the screws securing the carpet in the rear left door opening.

3. Having folded back the edge of the carpet and the sound insulation, we disconnect the wiring block from the remote control unit.

Removing the remote control unit

  • 4. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the block to the body.
  • 5. Remove the remote control unit.

Installation is performed in reverse order

If the immobilizer keys are lost

If you lose a working key, you need to purchase a blank and cut it to work with the ignition switch.

Then you need to perform the immobilizer training procedure using a training key and a new working key.

If the training key is lost, it is impossible to complete the key training procedure.

This means that you can continue to operate the vehicle only with the existing working key.

If you lose the working key or if the immobilizer malfunctions, you will have to replace the immobilizer and controller.
